I had no idea what I was doing as I walked up the stairs of Unity on Union Bookstore in 2018. I had struggled with substance abuse issues for over a decade and had completely given up hope. As I entered the book- store, I broke down and finally asked for help. Unity on Union has provided me with housing and a community
of recovery. There is no question that Unity on Union saved my life.

Unity on Union Bookstore is a refuge. Unity on Union offered me the physical safety and emotional support to leave a 17 year long unhealthy relationship. Throughout my sobriety, the bookstore and the people that it welcomes, continue to offer me kindness and comfort. It has become a space that I can call my own.

2420 East Union Street gave me my life back. There is magic at work in this small bookstore that now feels like home. I was given the chance to become a woking member of society in a warm, safe place with a lot of support. This was a lifesaving gift for me and I realize now that my life is not over. Thank you for the opportunity to be happy, sober and among friends on this journey called life.

Have I ever told you that 2420 East Union Street is more than just an address? Well, let me tell you when I moved back to Seattle I was in desperate need of a safe place to work on myself. Unity in Union game me the freedom to learn how to not pick up that first drink. The bookstore continues to carry freedom, peace and love to anyone who needs it.

Unity on Union saved me. I was living in an extremely unhealthy environment, when a friend told me about the bookstore. They offered me affordable housing, and things have changed for the better. I am so blessed and so thankful for the opportunity Unity on Union has given me. I hope it can be around to help others for may years to come.

Before I found Unity on Union, I was homeless. My hope was dwindling. Then Unity on Union threw me a lifeline. The community at Unity on Union has made all the difference in how I feel, think and present myself. The people there took a chance on me, trusted me and told me I deserved it. Because of them, I have stayed sober longer than I thought was possible. Thank you.
